Acting audition

An acting audition is used in the casting process to demonstrate the level and range of a performer's talent, and functions as well as finding the right actor for the work written. For actors, the audition piece is typically not from the show being considered. Some auditions involve cold reading, or performing a script that the actor is not familiar with. An actor may be called back multiple times during an acting audition for a certain role. Any actor knows that in order to build a career and to start landing paying jobs, you have to audition. The main goal of any acting agency is to consistently find work for its clients. Generally, agencies will represent actors for specific areas within the entertainment industry: film, television or commercials. Many acting agencies will also represent writers and directors. It is a big advantage for any agency to have clients who are capable of acting, writing and directing.

Actors union

It should a goal of all actors to become a member of one or all of the above unions. To find out more information about unions and how to become a member visit actors unions. The most reputable unions for acting are SAG (Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) and Equity Union, which represents actors and stage managers in theatre. To become a member of these guilds you must work a certain amount of hours and have a certain amount of credit vouchers to qualify. Once you are a guild member you will have full advantage of what a union offers which is support and protection.

Karma Age

The idea of karma in the west through the work of the Theosophical Society.
