Play auditions

Theatre is that branch of the performing arts concerned with acting out stories in front of an audience using combinations of speech, gesture, music, dance, sound and spectacle. When actors audition for a theatre production, often they will perform monologues from plays other than the play they're auditioning for. They involve one or more students (also called pupils) being taught by a teacher or instructor. Acting lessons may be either one section of a textbook (which, apart from the printed page, can also include multimedia) or, more frequently, a short period of time during which students are taught about a particular subject. Acting lessons may consist of exercises, cold readings or on-camera commercial techniques. Actor's auditions are a large part of any actors' career and will be for several years. Actor's auditions are used in the casting process to demonstrate the level and range of a performer's talent. Some auditions involve cold reading, or performing a scene from sides (pages from a script) that the actor is given in advance or when arriving at the audition. An actor may be called back multiple times during an acting audition for a certain role.

Actors union

It should a goal of all actors to become a member of one or all of the above unions. To find out more information about unions and how to become a member visit actors unions. The most reputable unions for acting are SAG (Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) and Equity Union, which represents actors and stage managers in theatre. To become a member of these guilds you must work a certain amount of hours and have a certain amount of credit vouchers to qualify. Once you are a guild member you will have full advantage of what a union offers which is support and protection.

Karma Age

The idea of karma in the west through the work of the Theosophical Society. Kardecist and Western New Age reinterpretations of karma frequently cast it as a sort of luck, which is associated with virtue: if one does good or spiritually valuable acts, one deserves and can expect good luck; contrariwise, if one does harmful things, one can expect bad luck or unfortunate happenings. In this conception, karma is the Neopagan law of return or Threefold Law, the idea that the beneficial or harmful effects one has on the world will return to oneself.
